Role Overview
We are looking for dedicated, tech-savvy drivers and potential trainee candidates to join our team as Field Scanning Drivers. In this role, you will be responsible for safely navigating specialized scanning vehicles equipped with an RTK GNSS System and Mobile Laser Scanners (MLS) to support the LiDAR scanning of urban trees across Europe. This is an excellent entry-level or trainee opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge geospatial and remote sensing technologies.
Your solid driving skills and technical curiosity will ensure the precise execution of survey routes, secure data acquisition, and the safe transport of high-value technical equipment.
Compensation & Logistics
As part of this engagement, greehill will cover all travel-related expenses, including airfare, inter-site transportation, and accommodation, ensuring you have the support necessary for seamless operations. In addition, you will receive a per diem allowance to cover daily expenses during your field deployments.
This role features an attractive work schedule that typically alternates between two weeks in the field across various European locations and one week off, although this cycle can be adjusted to suit mutual availability.
Key Responsibilities
Safely drive and operate specialized scanning vehicles through various European environments (parks, urban streets, and complex city layouts).
Assist in route planning and the logistical preparation of daily scanning operations.
Perform basic maintenance, care, and installation tasks for both the vehicles and the scanning equipment.
Ensure smooth and secure logistics of the survey equipment across different sites and international borders.
Maintain assertive and professional communication with local authorities or traffic control during survey projects, with the full support of our HQ.
Requirements
Very solid driving skills with a minimum of 2+ years of active driving experience.
Must hold a valid driver’s license in category B.
A highly safety-conscious, responsible, and adaptable driving style.
Good technical sense and a strong motivation to learn the basic operation of technical field equipment.
Good command of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications (Open to Trainees)
Current students or recent graduates in technical, transport, or environmental fields looking for a practical trainee experience are welcome.
Hold a valid driver’s license in category extended B, B+E, or C.
Proven experience working with, securing, and transporting high-value equipment.
Previous experience in professional driving, field logistics, or supporting field teams.
Fluency or proficiency in an additional European language (e.g., German, French) is a strong plus.
